What is Virgin Voyages Inclusive Pricing?
Well, my husband and I, aka Mr. Travel, have sailed Virgins Scarlet Lady three times. Here is what is included in the pricing, what isn’t included, and what you may want to upgrade.
INCLUDED IN VIRGIN'S PRICING
Basic Beverages
Soda, tea, drip coffee, water, sparkling water, and non-pressed juices.
Soda – these commonly include Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite.
Drip Coffee – You can find a great-tasting drip coffee and drink as much as you like at various spots throughout the Galley.
Water/Sparkling Water – You can locate multiple water refill stations throughout the ship. Virgin is committed to sustainability, so no plastic bottles. Bring your thermos or purchase one in the Virgin shops and refill before heading out. Carafes of fresh water are provided daily in your room also.
INCLUDED IN VIRGIN'S PRICING
All Restaurants
Virgin has 20+ restaurants onboard. Unlike many other cruise lines, there is no upcharge to eat in restaurants. I recommend making reservations in advance to ensure no wait time. You can view the variety of restaurants here.
WIFI
The wifi is basic. It’s slow, but it works great with “Whats App.” If you visit Richard’s private island in Bimini, the wifi automatically populates on your phone. I found the wifi worked better on the island than on the ship.
Tips/Gratuities
All-inclusive in the pricing. This is for everything, including drinks at the bar, salon and spa services, cleaning services, etc.
Group/Fitness Classes
No additional charges to participate in group fitness classes. Check your Virgin App for daily activities.
NOT INCLUDED IN VIRGIN’S PRICING
Alcohol
Currently, you can purchase a bar tab for $300. If you are buying your bar tab before you sail, Virgin will give you an additional free $100 towards your bar tab.
You can share your bar tab with anyone and everyone, so individual bar tabs are unnecessary.
You can also apply your bar tab to pressed juices and specialty coffee.
If you exhaust your bar tab or choose not to purchase a bar tab, don’t worry- the drink prices are very reasonable. For example, 40% of the wine is under $10 per glass, beer runs $5-$6, and basic cocktails run an average of $9.00 per drink. Remember, all these prices include gratuities.
Pressed Juices
You can find a wide selection of pressed juices at the Gym & Tonic, ranging in prices from $7 - $11. These prices include gratuity. You can charge pressed juices to your bar tab.
Specialty Coffee
Located on Deck 7, you will find a great little coffee shop with specialty coffee ranging in price from $4 - $5. You can charge specialty coffee to your bar tab.
Excursions
View and book shore excursions (Shore Things) before sailing using the Virgin App or by calling Sailor Services.
Spa Treatments, Salon Services & Tatoo’s
Reserve your spot on the Virgin App. All prices include gratuity.
WORTH THE UPGRADE
Cabin
You will have an opportunity to upgrade your cabin a few days before sailing by placing a “bid.” I have stayed in the Sea Terrace Cabin, which has a balcony, and this cabin is fine for me.
WIFI
If you don’t need wifi for anything more than emails and you are fine with communicating through What’s App – then the ship wifi will work.
For those of us who need more, then, by all means, upgrade. The price runs about $10 daily, and if you sign up on the first day of your sailing- you usually get a discount. The upgrade takes the frustration out of slow internet speed and is worth the money.
